Battle of Badar or Jang Badar or Ghazwa-e-Badar is the first battle of Islam. The exact date of Battle of Badar is 17 Ramadan, 2 Hijri (March 17 624). This was key and decisive battle for Islam in early days. The strength of Muslim force was only 313 in jang-e-badar and Quraish force consisted of more than 1200. Muslims fought that battle with extraordinary courage and defeated the opponents. The supreme commander of Quraish force Abu Jahal was killed in the battle along with 70 others. Only 14 Muslims died during the battle and became martyr of Badar. That was epic battle between Muslims of Medina and Quraish of Mecca. Prophet Muhammad PBUH treated all prisoners of war with kindness and set an example for world. Overall this battle of Badar will always be remembered for its importance and Muslim brevity.
